Summary:

Do you get excited about data in the cloud that is both secure and accessible?  As a Database Administrator within the Data Science and Engineering group, you will build, manage, and scale critical data assets in the cloud.  You will work alongside other technical data staff to leverage both SQL and NoSQL environments, provide top-notch data security and access, and architect a high-performance data ecosystem.  The right candidate will be an advocate for cloud-driven data solutions and a champion of change to make sure our operation is running at its best 24/7.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple database environments and database projects in Azure
  • Monitor and oversee Azure Data Factory processes, and similar data and ETL processes
  • Assist with database deployments and deployment pipelines
  • Oversee monitoring of SQL databases, and create alerts for detecting issues
  • Diagnose and improve performance bottlenecks, and Troubleshoot data discrepancies defects
  • Provide guidance and oversite to other developers working with database changes.
  • Participate in the testing process including code reviews, manual testing, and unit testing
  • Participate in architecture design meetings and participate in daily Scrum stand-ups
  • Identify technical issues with the data architecture and communicate them effectively to the data team and other stakeholders

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry-related professional experience and education
  • At least 5 years’ experience and proficiency managing Microsoft SQL Server
  • At least 2 year’s experience working and managing Microsoft Azure Services
  • Experience managing multiple environments across development, testing, and production
  • Experience managing access, automating scripts, and performing routine administrative tasks
  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple tasks and prioritize high-ticket items
  • Excellent communication, organization, technical, and project management skills

Preferred:

  • Experience managing Azure Data Factory pipelines and SSIS packages
  • Experience managing NoSQL databases and cloud services
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar like Git, Jira, or other related tools
