Job Requirements:
- Design, develop, and implement business rules in Business Rules Engine software.
- Work with application developers and business analysts to integrate into the product suite.
- Read and write SQL statements to create data sets used to validate rules.
- Create Functional Specifications from High Level Requirement documents.
- Test rules for expected outcomes.
- Troubleshoot rule errors and discrepancies.
- Troubleshoot performance issues.
- Work with Business Analyst to understand client and product requirements.
- Document rules, data, and processes.
- Perform testing in multiple environments.
- Assist with deployment of rule sets through environments.
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry-related professional experience and education.
- 3+ years experience with implementing business rule-based solutions.
- 5+ years experience in Business Analyst role or similar.
- Strong logic skills.
- Strong Excel skills – writing formulas.
- Strong analytical skills – especially with data.
- Experience with InRule, Drools, or similar business rule platforms.
- Experience with code review and QA – especially around data.
- Experience working with data, datasets, and SQL queries.
- Experience in data analysis and data discovery.
- Experience with functional/technical specifications – writing a plus.
- Strong and clear communication skills.
- SQL, relational database, & data warehousing skills, particularly with MS SQL Server is a plus.
- Agile development experience is a plus.
- Experience working in US-based mortgage or financial industries a plus.
- Willingness to learn.
